Here’s the spots we visited the past few days:
La Mela Ristorante, 167 Mulberry St, NY 10013: Excellent Italian food. Try the penne in vodka sauce.
Coffee Shop Bar, 29 Union Square, NY 10003: banana cream pie quite good.
Shanghai Tang 600 Madison Ave, NY 10022: Impossibly expensive clothing, not entirely “worth it”
Sugar Sweet Sunshine, 126 Rivington St, NY 10002 Unbelievably good cupcakes. Try the pistachio or the strawberry cream cheese cupcakes.
Two Boots Pizzeria & Video, 42-46 Avenue A (at 3rd St.) near Houston. Very good pizza slices, just like all the pizza in NY.
We also went to a deli right across from Stage Deli, called Lindy’s, I think. Excellent chopped liver, although I may be clouded by my hunger. Tomorrow, we plan to try some Buffalo Burgers at Ted’s Montana which is a steak and burger place on 51st St. at 6th. For lunch, we’ll try Topaz, a Thai restaurant at 127 W 56th St between 6th and 7th. Merry Holidays to all and to all a Happy New Year!
